Arriving at The Atlantic Hotel

Guests can travel to Jersey by ferry and by plane, all of which have accessibility assistance.

Arriving by ferry: Guests can travel in their car from Poole, making this an excellent option for exploring the island. The ferry has accessibility features, including accessible toilets.

Arriving by air: Traveling by air to Jersey is a quicker option with flights available from many locations. Jersey Airport has a special assistance team available when needed, please book special assistance in advance.

Wheelchair-friendly taxis: Wheelchair-friendly taxis are available in Jersey and should be booked in advance due to their limited availability.

Car Parking

The Atlantic Hotel provides two dedicated disabled parking spaces conveniently located adjacent to the main entrance doors.

These parking spaces are designed to ensure ease of access for guests, with no steps or barriers to navigate. The hotel team is always on hand to provide assistance if needed.

Ocean Restaurant, the Cocktail Bar, and the terrace at The Atlantic Hotel are fully accessible to wheelchair users, as all are located on the ground floor with a completely level layout.

The hotel is mindful of dietary restrictions and lifestyle choices, offering menus that cater to vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free diets. For guests with allergies or swallowing difficulties, the restaurant team can customise menus to ensure a safe and enjoyable dining experience. Additionally, adaptive cutlery is available in every dining outlet for guests with dexterity issues, ensuring a comfortable and inclusive experience for everyone.

Non-residents can be provided with a key to one of our bedrooms that feature wide doors for easier access. If needed, a mobile frame can also be added by the hotel team.

Garden Studios

Our Garden Studios are located on the ground floor with no stairs required for access.

The wide door frames accommodate standard wheelchairs, and the spacious bedrooms ensure comfort for all guests. The bathroom features a shower over the bathtub, which the hotel acknowledges may not suit everyone’s needs. To enhance convenience, a portable frame can be installed around the toilet, and a bath lift is available upon request.

The Atlantic Suite and The Executive Suite

Our Atlantic Suite and Executive Suite are also situated on the ground floor, providing easy access with wide door frames suitable for standard wheelchairs.

These suites are very spacious. In the bathroom, there is a walk-in shower., Please be aware that these are not level with the floor due to a raised shower tray, which we appreciate may present a consideration for some guests.

Golf and Ocean View Rooms

Our Golf and Ocean view rooms are situated on the first and second floors, with access via lift or stairs.

The lift door is 65cm wide, and is therefore not suitable for a standard wheelchair. In the bathroom, there is a shower over the bathtub. We can provide a bath step to assist guests with getting in and out of the bath.

The indoor swimming pool is located on the ground floor and is level with the rest of the public areas.

The outdoor swimming pool, which is heated during the summer months, can be accessed using a portable ramp, bridging over two steps from the garden side.

For guests who have a hidden disability, The Atlantic Hotel strives to make your experience as enjoyable as possible.

Our team has undergone diversity and inclusion training to ensure that all guests are treated with respect, fostering an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. We are continuously learning how to best cater to a diverse range of needs and abilities.

The hotel can accommodate sensitivities that guests may have to sound, light, or touch, and will gladly make adjustments for unforeseen triggers. Quiet, low-lit spaces can be created to ensure that everyone is comfortable.

Hearing Impairment
The hotel provides a portable hearing loop to assist with communication. During emergencies such as fire alarms, a member of our management team can enter guest bedrooms with the guest’s consent.

Dysphagia
We understand that various conditions can make swallowing difficult and stressful, and can tailor menus to suit guests’ tastes and dietary needs, ensuring a delightful dining experience for all.

Visual Impairment
The hotel will be happy to print our menus in larger text or in a different contrast if required.

The island’s capital, St Helier, offers accessible parking at Sand Street car park. Mobility scooters can be hired from Shopmobility, allowing guests to navigate the town and explore a mix of local boutiques and high street stores.

Located near the hotel in St Ouen’s Bay, Healing Waves is an accessible centre for surfing, providing an opportunity for everyone to experience the thrill of riding the waves. Other accessible places of interest include Jersey Zoo, Jersey Museum, Jersey War Tunnels, La Hougue Bie and many more.
