5 Michelin Stars, Eat Jersey Food Festival 2024

We are delighted to announce that the Eat Jersey Food Festival will return for 2024.

The festival will run from Wednesday 20th to Sunday 24th March 2024 with Executive Chef, Will Holland and Head Chef, Adam Braithwaite being joined by a stellar line up of renowned chefs, including two 2-Michelin Star chefs, for a five event gourmet spectacular.

James Knappett, Chef and Co-Founder of 2 Michelin Star Kitchen Table in London as well as Gary Jones, former Executive Head Chef of 2 Michelin Star Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire headline the incredible line up.

Executive Chef, Will Holland said:

“Every year we look to expand the festival and build on what we achieved the previous year and I’m genuinely excited about what’s to come for 2024. We have top chefs from restaurants featuring a total of 5 Michelin Stars visiting the island which is more than Jersey has ever seen at one time. We’ve also added a fifth event to the festival, launching on the Wednesday with a Genuine Jersey collaboration with Tommy Radiguet, Head Chef of Samphire in Jersey. I’ve admired Tommy’s cooking for some time and it will be great to work together to launch the festival.”

Announcing the return of Eat Jersey, Patrick Burke, Owner and Managing Director of The Atlantic Hotel and founder of the Eat Jersey Food Festival, said:

“2023 was our most successful Eat Jersey yet and the perfect launch pad for next year’s event. To attract not one, but two 2-Michelin Star chefs to the island plus a Michelin Star chef of the calibre of Adam Smith is testament to the high regard in which the festival is held. It promises to be a really exciting five day celebration of the very best Jersey produce and the very finest chefs from around the UK and Jersey.”

The festival will kick off on Wednesday 20th March with a Genuine Jersey evening with Tommy Radiguet, Head Chef, Samphire, Jersey. This three course dinner will feature a host of Genuine Jersey products and will be paired with locally produced beers and spirits. A Jersey boy, Tommy began his career at Longueville Manor before undertaking an apprenticeship at Ormer with Shaun Rankin and then Lee Smith, working his way up to Head Chef.

On Thursday 21st March, the hotel will host former Roux Scholarship winner Adam Smith, Executive Chef, Michelin Star Woven by Adam Smith, Coworth Park, Berkshire for a five course gastronomic dinner. Adam’s exceptional career has seen him rise through the ranks at The Ritz before joining The Devonshire Arms as Head Chef and then moving on to Dorchester Collection’s Coworth Park. Adam was awarded his first Michelin Star in 2018. He launched Woven by Adam Smith in September 2022 and was yet again awarded a Michelin Star within six months of opening.

Friday 22nd March sees the festival’s first 2 Michelin Star chef in the form of James Knappett, Chef and Co-Founder, 2 Michelin Star Kitchen Table, London. James will be cooking alongside Executive Chef Will Holland for a six course, four hands dinner. After spending his formative years in the UK at prestigious establishments including Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, The Berkeley and Rick Stein’s The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, he travelled further afield to join Thomas Keller’s Per Se in New York and Noma in Copenhagen. He launched Kitchen Table with his wife Sandia and was awarded a Michelin Star in 2014 and a second in 2018.

The star-studded line up continues into Saturday 23rd March when Gary Jones, former Executive Chef, 2 Michelin Star Le Manoir , has designed a four course dinner alongside Will Holland, showcasing the very best of Jersey’s Spring produce. Throughout his career, Gary has earned Michelin Stars in three different restaurants and was awarded The Craft Guild of Chefs prize in 2022 for going ‘above and beyond’ for the hospitality industry. He is also responsible for training countless Michelin starred chefs and many youngsters who have gone on to achieve national competition success including Will Holland who worked under him over 25 years ago! ago!

The festival concludes on Sunday 24th March with a three course lunch from Calum Franklin, former Executive Head Chef, Holborn Dining Room, Rosewood Hotel, London and author of The Pie Room. Calum has become known for his pie creations and opened a dedicated pie room at the Holborn Dining Room in 2017.

Ingredients featured throughout Eat Jersey will be sourced from the land and waters surrounding the island wherever possible. By working with produce grown, reared and fished locally, the festival will seek to minimise food miles and reduce its environmental impact.

International charity Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust will again be the festival’s philanthropic partner. Headquartered at Jersey Zoo, Durrell has a mission of saving species from extinction and focuses on the most threatened species in the most threatened places. Through its work at the zoo and in the wild, its aim is for more diverse, beautiful and resilient natural landscapes in which species can thrive and people can enjoy a deeper connection with nature. To date, The Atlantic Hotel has raised more than £40,000 in support of Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.
