Hotel Designs’ Top 25 Hoteliers Brit List
The Atlantic Hotel’s owner and managing director, Patrick Burke, has been named as one of the UK’s Top 25 Hoteliers in the inaugural Brit List from Hotel Designs, the leading online news and analysis site for hoteliers and interior designers.
The Brit List is a celebration of the most influential and inspirational individuals in the hotel and design industries. A process of peer nomination and a panel of industry expert judges compiled the final list of the Top 25 Hoteliers and the Top 25 Interior Designers. It features some of the names behind the UK’s most notable hotels.
‘It’s a great honour as a Jersey hotelier to have been recognised as one of the UK’s top 25 in the first Hotel Designs Brit List. The hotel industry is in my blood, with my father Henry long ago inspiring me to follow in his footsteps. I continue to be influenced today by my peers and am privileged to work in a truly remarkable industry,’ said Mr Burke.
Mr Burke has dedicated his career to the hospitality industry. After managing hotels across the UK and Europe, he succeeded his father as managing director of The Atlantic Hotel in 1987. Alongside this, Mr Burke has served as a director of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) since 1999, including three years as chairman from 2006-2009.
In 2010 Mr Burke co-founded the Luxury Jersey Hotels (LJH) consortium, designed to attract new market segments to Jersey, and for the past seven years has served as chairman. He is also the sole Channel Islands member of the Master Innholders. The award of membership of the Master Innholders is open to practising hoteliers who have demonstrated their innkeeping ability and continuing dedication to improving standards within the industry.
